Jen is a Theriogenologist based at Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga, Australia. Jen has extensive industry experience in both the Thoroughbred and Warmblood industries, as well as in the use of artificial reproductive technologies. Jen has had the privilege of working alongside some of the best equine reproductive veterinarians in the world, spending time at Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital, Hagyard Equine Medical, Equibreed NZ, Colorado State University, and the last 7 years working at Scone Equine Hospital before moving to Wagga Wagga.
Jen’s passion is using the artificial reproductive toolbox to solve problems in the broodmare and the stallion. Jen is a registered specialist in Veterinary Reproduction with a special interest in all aspects of Equine Reproduction, including stallion and mare fertility, as well as artificial reproductive technologies such as artificial insemination, embryo transfer, and in vitro fertilisation.
Jen’s areas of research include sex sorting of stallion spermatozoa, development of a long-term liquid storage extender for stallion sperm, and improving the fertility of the aged broodmare. Jen has worked in some of the world’s largest equine veterinary hospitals, including Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital, Scone Equine Hospital, Hagyard Equine Medical (USA), Colorado State University (USA), and Equiception (NL). She is an internationally renowned speaker on equine reproduction and is currently an Associate Professor in Theriogenology at Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga.
