Bronze Art Francis Geeroms
Belgian Avenue SponsorFrancis Geeroms – Belgian Equine Bronze Sculptor
Francis Geeroms (b. 1963, Brussels) is a contemporary Belgian sculptor known for his hyper-realistic bronze depictions of horses. Raised in a family-run riding school and trained as a farrier, he developed an intimate understanding of equine anatomy and movement long before beginning his artistic career. This lifelong immersion in the equestrian world forms the foundation of his sculptural work.
Geeroms discovered sculpture later in life, creating his first bronze in 2015. Entirely self-taught, he approaches each piece with the precision of a technician and the eye of a horseman. He meticulously observes his subjects—photographing, filming, sketching, and measuring—to capture the exact gesture, tension, and expression of the horse in motion.
Working primarily in bronze, Geeroms models in clay before collaborating with specialized foundries for casting and patina. His sculptures are recognized for their anatomical accuracy, dynamic posture, and refined surface detail—qualities that resonate strongly with veterinarians, breeders, riders, and equine professionals.
His work has been exhibited at major equestrian events, including the Jumping International de Monte-Carlo, the All Nations Cup in Aachen, and Zangersheide. Today, Geeroms is regarded as a leading artist in equine bronze sculpture, creating pieces that unite artistic sensitivity with a deep scientific appreciation of the horse.
