Veterinary Solutions BV started as a equine veterinary practice. So we know the needs of dealing with horses and demanding clients. We developed our products with 1 value in mind: being the Best: this means Image Quality, overall product (robustness, usability) and aftersales.
Driven by our passion for medical imaging and IT we searched for the ideal X-ray system and in 2013 started distributing the FUJIFILM DR systems. We soon discovered that our own needs as regards imaging closely matched those of other veterinary surgeons. But the systems available on the market were far from perfect. So we decided to focus on that specific need and adopted a dual approach: ‘solutions’ and ‘support’.
‘Solutions’ refers to our continuous efforts to find innovative solutions that make things easier for veterinary surgeons and at the same time improve the quality of the end product, the X-rays.
‘Support’ speaks for itself. Veterinary surgeons must and will be assisted quickly and efficiently in setting up their configuration options, if they need help with using the programmes and in the exceptional case of a defect.

In vitro production of equine embryos: We offer in vitro production of equine embryos from oocytes collected by Ovum Pick Up (OPU) from valuable mares. The oocytes are sent to us, and we perform Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) and In Vitro Culture (IVC) of the embryos for nine days under strictly controlled laboratory conditions. Once the embryos have reached the blastocyst stage, we vitrify them or hand them over for fresh transfer. Vitrified embryos can be safely stored for long periods of time.
Vitrification of equine embryos: Equine embryos collected by uterine flushing are often too large to be cryopreserved with success. The embryos can be shipped to our laboratory, where we can reduce the size of the embryos by removing the fluid from the blastocoele cavity before vitrification. The vitrified embryos are then sent back to the owner for transfer or can be safely stored for long periods of time.
Courses: Join our hands-on training courses in Assisted Reproductive Technologies, including techniques such as In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), and vitrification. For more information contact us.

At Equifreeze, we specialize in freezing embryos collected from donor mares so they can be transferred into a recipient mare at a later time.
Here’s how it works: your veterinarian collects the embryo and sends it to our lab. Once the embryo has arrived at Equifreeze, we carefully evaluate the embryo for size and quality and select the most suitable method for freezing.
Most embryos are frozen using a fast-freezing process called vitrification, which helps protect the embryo by preventing ice crystal formation, resulting in higher pregnancy rates. Smaller embryos (usually collected around Day 6.5 to 7 after ovulation) are placed in an appropriate freezing medium containing cryoprotectants to protect the embryonic cells from freezing damage and frozen directly. Larger embryos are first gently collapsed using a sophisticated micromanipulator unit to remove extra fluid, then placed in a medium containing cryoprotectants and vitrified. This additional step helps improve the chances of success. Once frozen, the embryos are safely stored in liquid nitrogen at -196°C—similar to how frozen semen is preserved—until you're ready for the transfer. Embryos can be stored for a long time (years) in liquid nitrogen without any loss of viability.
Continuing education in equine reproductive medicine is the main focus of ReproTraining. The most current scientific and clinically relevant knowledge is shared with practicing veterinarians of varying experience levels through continuing education courses and online seminars. Concurrently and importantly, questions from the “coal face” of equine practice are brought closer to clinical research. A network will be created with the long-term goal of helping to shape the training and experiences of new colleagues and to maintain the attractiveness of equine reproductive medicine as a career.
Peter Elaut is a Belgian artist that specializes in horse sculptures
made from driftwood. The artist uses the unique charm of driftwood,
combining the natural beauty of the horse with creative design to
produce distinctive and aesthetically pleasing pieces. Am-Art is known
for offering original and highly decorative art that highlights the
natural elegance and artistic potential of reclaimed wood. The
sculptures look realistic, authentic, just like horses are. Several of
the sculptures of life-size horses and foals will be on display at the
ESER-2024 Symposium.
Marjo Lebbe is a professional artist on a mission to help horses and
owners in a different way, who put her veterinary career on hold. Marjo
is an internationally collected Belgian artist who started painting at 3
years old and specializes in equine watercolor art. She expresses the
freedom horses give in her unique watercolor technique on canvas, which
is full of movement and naturalness, just like the horses she paints.
One of the primary thoughts behind her work is to give all the
misunderstood horses of her veterinary career a place. In her words: "I
provide a voice for all these horses I met as a veterinarian. Giving
them a place to be a horse again on my canvas, I try to bring
understanding and awareness of their needs, fostering a closer
relationship with nature.” Several of her paintings will be on display
at the ESER-2024 Symposium.
