The ESER-2026 European Practitioners Symposium on Equine Reproduction, will be held on October 15-16, 2026 in Bruges, Belgium. For 2026, we are moving to the beautiful city of Bruges with its canals, beautiful medieval streets, shops and museums. The ESER-2026 will take place in the center of Bruges in the brand new, modern BMCC Conference Center with lots of hotels nearby.
The Second International Symposium on Equine OPU-ICSI-IVF will take place on Wednesday Oct 14 at the BMCC in Bruges. Experts from the field and academia will bring us practical how-to protocols and the latest insights in all aspects of equine OPU, donor mare management and selection, sedation, pain management, and ethical considerations, the latest on proper freezing, manipulating, thawing and transfer of ICSI embryos, selection of recipient mares, sexing embryos, sexing semen, and the latest advances in equine ICSI and IVF techniques.
The European (Practitioners) Symposium on Equine Reproduction (ESER-2026), will be held under the theme “Focus on Fertility: Diagnostic Tests and Therapeutic Protocols in Mares and Stallions.” Experts from Europe, North and South America will bring the latest information and how-to sessions on all aspects of fertility in mares and stallions, diagnostic techniques and therapeutic protocols for endometritis, manipulation of the oestrous cycle, seasonal reproduction, embryo transfer of fresh and ICSI embryos, and lots more.
The Stallion Semen Handling Course will be organized on Saturday and Sunday Oct 17-18. On Day 1 (Saturday – open registration), a team of International experts will share with you the newest insights in semen collection, semen evaluation, management of stallions, shipping and freezing semen. The lectures will take place in the BMCC in Bruges. On Day 2 (Sunday – limited to 12 participants), hands-on, applied, practical exercises with live semen collections, evaluating and freezing semen and lots more will be taught at the ERC Demorette Center in Asse (near Brussels). Your hosts for the practical part will be Peter Deblende (ERC Demorette Semen Lab, Belgium), Tullis Matson (Stallion AI, UK) and Bart Cools (Schockemohle Stallion Station, Germany). They will guide you through the demonstrations and hands-on exercises at the stallion collection, evaluation, shipment and freezing of semen and more. This trio has taught this practical course several times in the past with great success and they will share their experience and expertise with the same enthusiasm as always. Participants to the practical course will be transferred to Asse on Saturday night for a welcoming dinner and practical sessions will start on Sunday at 8:30 and end at 17:00.
The Keros International Embryo Transfer Course will take place on Saturday and Sunday Oct 17-18. On Saturday, the 16th edition of this renowned and very popular course will kick off with a full day of lectures on the techniques and recent advancements in equine ET – open registration. The day will be filled with presentations by the world’s greatest experts in equine ET. The goal is to bring an in-depth overview of all the latest developments and new insights in the collection, manipulation, transport, transfer, and freezing of embryos, management of donor and recipient mares, as well as the selection of recipient mares for fresh and ICSI embryos. This part of the course will be open to all veterinarians starting or experienced in equine ET. On Sunday, the second day, the course is limited to 15 participants and takes place at the Keros ET Center (Beselare near Ypres). This part of the course is dedicated to practical, hands-on exercises and demonstrations on collection, manipulation, transfer of embryos as well as the warming and manipulation of slow-frozen and vitrified ICSI embryos. This part of the course is designed to teach the participants all that is needed to start ET in their practice. Participants in the practical course will be transferred to Ypres on Saturday night for a welcoming dinner and practical sessions will start on Sunday morning at 8:30 and end at 17:00. Transfer to the Ypres railroad station takes 20 min.
