Soledad Martin-Pelaez is an equine theriogenologist and researcher specializing in assisted reproductive technologies in horses. She earned her veterinary degree from the Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio in Madrid, Spain, in 2012 and subsequently worked in several equine reproduction centers across Europe before pursuing advanced clinical training. She completed a specialized internship in equine reproduction at Utrecht University in the Netherlands and later undertook a residency in Equine Theriogenology at the University of California, Davis, where she became a Diplomate of the American College of Theriogenologists.
At UC Davis, Dr. Martin-Pelaez combines clinical work with research in the Veterinary Assisted Reproduction Laboratory while pursuing a PhD in Animal Biology. Her research focuses on equine in vitro embryo production, oocyte maturation, and early embryonic development, with particular interest in how abnormal cleavage and chromosomal errors influence pregnancy loss.
