Barbara De Mori is Associate Professor at the University of Padua, Italy, where she teaches Bioethics, Veterinary Ethics and Animal Welfare Ethics. She holds a PhD in Ethics and is Director of the Ethics Laboratory for Veterinary Medicine, Conservation and Animal Welfare at the University of Padua.

Her research focuses on ethical decision-making in veterinary medicine and animal welfare, with particular emphasis on developing practical approaches and tools for the ethical assessment of human interventions involving animals. Her work spans veterinary medicine, animal research, conservation and emerging biotechnologies.

Prof. De Mori is actively involved in the ethical evaluation of assisted reproductive technologies (ARTs). Her current research includes the development of ethical assessment tools for the application of ARTs in domestic animals and for reproductive technologies and biobanking used in endangered species conservation.

She serves as an expert in animal research ethics for the Italian Higher Health Council and is involved in several national and international ethics committees and collaborative research programmes. Through her work, she aims to integrate scientific progress, animal welfare and structured ethical decision-making into modern veterinary practice.
