Dr. Scoggin grew up in Boulder, Colorado, where his parents took part in rodeo and bred running Quarter Horses. Charlie attended both graduate and veterinary school at Colorado State University, where he earned a Master of Science in Equine Reproductive Physiology in 2001 and his DVM degree in 2005. Charlie went on to complete an Internship at Hagyard Equine Medical Institute and worked at the Pioneer Equine Hospital in Oakdale, CA. In 2008, Charlie accepted a position as a resident veterinarian at Claiborne Farm where he practiced until 2015. He became a Diplomate of the American College of Theriogenologists (animal reproduction) in 2012, and later joined the team at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in July 2015. Charlie is currently the resident veterinarian at Three Chimneys Farm in Midway, Kentucky, where he oversees the breeding program, manages the resident stallions, and is in charge of the advanced breeding techniques. Charlie's professional interests include stallion reproductive physiology and IVF techniques. He is a highly respected speaker and has contributed to previous ESER events.
